Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on the front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
  2. Perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
  3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
  4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
  6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
  7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
  8. Process all SSC Corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, requests, and other communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
  9. Assist the Store Manager with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
  10. Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage daily.
  11. Assist in managing cashiering activities to ensure all cash handling practices and guidelines are followed.
  12. Oversee promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
  13. Manage sales effectiveness of seasonal areas.
  14. Coordinate store signage.
  15. Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, and process damaged merchandise daily.
  16. Assist with creating weekly schedules.
  17. Manage store supplies and expense control.
  18. Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
  19. Ensure coolers and store-front program racks/displays are refilled daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  1. Prefer prior retail and management experience.
  2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
  3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
