Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking an Analyst Series – Operations Support to support the Regional Bus Company at East New York Depot. The role emphasizes designing quantitative analyses and providing senior-management level insights to improve reliability and cost efficiency.

The Associate Staff Analyst/Staff Analyst I-II levels require strong analytical capabilities, data synthesis, and collaboration with labor relations and legal teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interface effectively with senior management, staff, and MTA affiliates and external organizations.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design, structure, and “own” quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Provide analytical support by performing a broad range of complex, quantitative / qualitative activities.
• Gather, evaluate and synthesize data into management level reports and actionable recommendations.
• Identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential bottom-line impact.
• Synthesize findings, develop recommendations, and help present to senior management.
• Audit depot and division processes to ensure compliance with planned strategic initiatives related to availability improvements.
• Advise and influence functional partners (e.g., labor relations, legal), senior leaders and operations management / staff on key business decisions and major change initiatives.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with key partners / stakeholders.
• Lead interview campaigns, working sessions, and senior client presentations.
