The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) IT Department is seeking an Operations Analytics & Problem Management Fellow Undergraduate to beginSpring 2027. This onsite role at 2 Broadway, New York, NY, requires a minimum 12-month commitment and offers exposure to IT incident analysis, reporting, and AI/automation initiatives.

Responsibilities include analyzing P1 incidents, supporting Problem backlog disposition, and assisting with dashboards and executive reporting.

Qualifications

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Strong analytical and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and identify trends.
Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.
Independent worker who can also collaborate in a team.
Interest in IT operations, data analytics, AI, automation, or process improvement.
Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, ServiceNow or automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Analyze P1/major incident information to identify recurring issues and potential Problem Management candidates.
Review incident data, timelines, and supporting information to identify trends and patterns.
Support assessment and disposition of the existing Problem backlog.
Track Problem records, RCA activities, corrective actions, owners, and due dates.
Prepare and validate data for IT operational and critical application reporting.
Support Power BI dashboards, reports, and recurring management metrics.
Assist with data-quality reviews and identify gaps in IT information.
Support AI, automation, and process improvement initiatives in IT reporting.
