Competitive Power Ventures, Inc. in Houston seeks an Operations Analyst to support the daily operations of the order-to-cash lifecycle for commercial retail power customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience in Retail Energy operations.
• 2–5 years in Retail Energy operations, preferably in PJM market.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and independently resolving complex issues.
• Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with payment applications, collections and/or customer care; all three a plus.
• Understanding of EDI transactions.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments with accuracy; teamwork.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check including criminal, civil, credit, driving record and SS verification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out operational processes for commercial retail power customers and contribute to related policies and procedures.
• Follow established controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to controls and procedures.
• Review assigned processes for efficiency and effectiveness and propose improvements.
• Validate incoming payments against customer invoices.
• Research and resolve questions from brokers and customers and communicate solutions clearly.
• Coordinate with customers and utilities to address collection issues.
• Investigate discrepancies between payment and billing details.
• Monitor the customer care line and respond to customer questions.
• Manage the payment portal for direct-billed customers.
