Job summary

Bay Area Turning Point, Inc. is seeking an Operations Aide in Texas to transport clients to appointments and resources, aiding them in overcoming abuse. The role requires coordinating transportation and documenting outcomes to support program objectives.

40 hours per week with a flexible schedule; must have reliable driving record and Texas driver’s license. The position includes on-site responsibilities and interaction with shelter and community services, under the Crisis Intervention Manager.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in transportation services.
  • Possession of valid, non-suspended Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation assistance for shelter, hotel and non-residential clients.
  • Schedule and maintain a weekly calendar of approved client transportation.
  • Complete proper documentation of client transportation and submit logs weekly for service documentation.
  • Assist with weekly walk-through of agency vehicles (4 vans) to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep.
  • Assist the Donation Center & Client Closet operations by picking up and dropping off donations from the community for clients.
  • Answer the Agency’s crisis intervention via the agency’s 24-hour hotline.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Overview

The Operations Aide is responsible for the transporting of clients to and from appointments, interviews, and resources to assist in overcoming the abuse they have experienced.

HOURS

40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objective, tasks, activities, and responsibilities and to effectively document outcome measures and variations. Typical work schedule to include but not limited to: Sunday – Off, Monday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm/Tuesday - 8:30 am to 5:30 pm/Wednesday – 2nd & 4th 6:30 am to 2:30 pm/Thursday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm/Friday – 8:30 am to 5:30 pm/Saturday – Off, with the flexibility to meet the demands of client transportation needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Other Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks
  • Must have a clean driving record/ have automobile insurance coverage and be insurable/ have at least 3 years of verifiable driving experience.
  • Ability to work untraditional hours, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively manage transportation needs.
  • Ability to work with diverse clients and maintain appropriate boundaries in meeting clients’ needs.
