Job summary

Silgan Containers in Brookfield, WI seeks a Manager of Operations Accounting to lead plant finance activities, cost analysis, and strategic operations support. This onsite role partners with corporate finance, plant accounting, and operations leadership to ensure accurate month-end closes and robust manufacturing reporting.

You will build and develop a high-performing team, own the month-end close, oversee cost accounting, variance reporting, and inventory costing, and drive process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years accounting experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years cost accounting experience.
• 1+ year management or supervisory experience.
• Experience with standard cost systems, inventory accounting, variance analysis.
• Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne or similar ERP.
• Advanced Excel skills for reconciliations, pivot tables, reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high performing operations accounting team.
• Own the month end close process for plant operations.
• Analyze overhead, manufacturing, and inventory variances and prepare purchase price variance reports.
• Partner with plant personnel to support inventory costing, job closures, and physical inventory execution.
• Support compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements and champion process improvements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and cross functional stakeholders such as Operations, Procurement, and IT.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures to ensure alignment across multiple manufacturing sites.
