Silgan Closures in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting and month-end close. You will partner with plant teams to ensure accurate product costs and financial results across multiple locations.

The role involves cost analysis, overhead rate calculation, and variance explanations, with opportunities for growth and advancement in a global packaging leader.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations and journal entries.
• Strong Excel skills with data analysis and financial modeling.

Aufgaben

• Support manufacturing plants with costing and setup of new products.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for inventory valuation methods (LIFO/FIFO).
• Analyze and update standard cost and overhead rates.
• Calculate and monitor manufacturing overhead rates.
• Research, analyze and explain variances; assist plant personnel with inventory issues.
• Provide inventory accounting and month-end close support for plant controllers.
• Manage excess and obsolete inventory processes (SLOB and HFI accrual).
