Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Manager, Risk Management - Operational Risk Challenge & Advisory to partner with business teams in identifying and mitigating risks. You will lead 2nd line risk challenge activities, work cross-functionally with BRO, IRM, and Internal Audit, and help implement innovative risk controls across the organization.

The role emphasizes governance, data-driven analysis, and strong communication with executives. A senior candidate with 5+ years in risk-related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting.
• 1+ years of experience in Process Management.
• CPA, CIA, or PMP certifications are preferred.
• Advanced skills in Google Sheets and Google Docs.
• Advanced skills in data analysis and data visualization tools (Tableau).

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line effective challenge and advice to the 1st line on risk assessment processes (RCSA, PLA, PRA, Launch initiatives, etc.).
• Document and communicate results of challenge activities; perform data analysis to identify risks and remediation needs.
• Serve as SME to BRO and IRM in operational risk assessments.
• Collaborate across Operational Risk Management, ERM, Internal Audit, and related functions to meet objectives.
• Build relationships and advise first line Business Risk Offices.
• Participate in ORCA team efforts.
• Be proficient in Enterprise Risk Management’s Risk and Control Standards.
