Job summary

Capital One seeks a Principal Risk Specialist for Operational Risk Challenge & Advisory to partner with business units in identifying and mitigating risks. You will lead second-line challenge, leverage data analytics, and coordinate with BRO, IRM, and others to strengthen risk controls.

The role requires risk management experience, strong communication, and proficiency with data tools. Eligible for performance incentives depending on the plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, or Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line effective challenge and advice to the 1st line on risk assessment processes.
• Document and communicate results, perform data analysis to identify risks and remediation needs.
• Serve as subject matter expert to BRO and IRM in operational risk assessments.
• Collaborate across Operational Risk Management, Risk Oversight Programs, and other risk functions to meet objectives.
• Build relationships and become a trusted advisor to Business Risk Offices.
• Participate in team efforts in Operational Risk Challenge and Advisory.
• Be proficient in Enterprise Risk Management Risk and Control Standards.
