Job summary

Weyerhaeuser in Northwest Oregon seeks an operational Forester based in Clatskanie, OR. You will lead field forestry tasks, site prep, regeneration, inventory sampling, and contract administration while aligning with regional harvest strategies and annual budgets.

The role requires travel to field sites, strong safety, GIS/MS Office proficiency, and the ability to manage silvicultural budgets and metrics. A Bachelor's in Forestry is required; 50% field time and 25,000 miles driving per year are

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field is required.
Knowledge of state and federal forest practice rules/statutes.
Strong team building, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GIS on PC.
Ability to develop, prioritize, plan, implement and manage activities to meet targets and deadlines; occasional extended hours.

Responsibilities

Execute forestry plan in line with regional harvesting strategy and budget.
Project layout using aerial photos, maps, GIS and ground reconnaissance.
Contract administration: negotiate, supervise, monitor compliance and payments.
Develop and track budgets and silvicultural metrics.
Forecast silvicultural projects and expenditures; ensure safety and environmental compliance.
Collaborate with area and region teams to align goals; participate in fire protection as needed.
Willing to travel to field destinations and work in all weather conditions.
