Job summary

CLR Timber Holdings in Brookings, Oregon is seeking a Field Forester to support forest management planning and field operations on our timber properties. You will assist the lead forester in developing and implementing forest management plans and operations, and perform field tasks to determine management needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in forestry or 5+ years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency in map reading, compass orientation and aerial photo interpretation.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain an NWCG firefighter type 2 (FFT2) or higher qualification.
• Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

• Performs field work to determine management needs.
• Collects and compiles forest management data including inventory measurement, timber cruising, and stocking surveys.
• Performs layout of timber sales and vegetation management projects.
• Assists in reforestation stand improvement and other contracts related to forest management activities.
• Coordinates with interdisciplinary staff to ensure protection of non-timber resources.
• Attend courses, seminars, conferences, lectures and meetings. (state federal tribal etc.)
• Maintains accurate and orderly records and files.
• Overseas various special projects as assigned.
