Job summary

CertainTeed in Oxford, NC seeks an Operational Excellence Manager to lead World Class Manufacturing initiatives, define deployment plans, and drive measurable gains in net manufacturing savings, productivity, and waste reduction.

You will coach pillar teams, run RCA and Kaizen events, maintain KPI dashboards, and ensure continuous improvement aligned with corporate strategy. Requires engineering degree and 5–10 years in manufacturing leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration preferred and High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-10 years in manufacturing, process engineering, or technical project development required.
• 5+ years of experience in leading teams required.
• Proven experience with teaching WCM methods and techniques required.
• Ability to multi-task multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive implementation of operational excellence initiatives to deliver measurable results in Net Manufacturing Savings (NMS), productivity gains, and waste reduction.
• Facilitate Steering Committees to align safety, quality, delivery, cost and people site priorities, review progress, and ensure accountability to KPIs.
• Own and maintain the Deployment Plan and Roadmap, integrating pillar activities with the plant’s strategic objectives and drive overall project execution.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Kaizen events, and problem-solving workshops to eliminate chronic losses.
• Coach and mentor pillar teams to enhance technical expertise, delivery capability and drive overall results.
• Champion the use of performance tracking tools (e.g., Project Tracker, dashboards) to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with OPEX leadership to communicate progress, elevate barriers, and align with corporate strategies.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement at all organizational levels.
• Share and implement best practices across the network to accelerate deployment maturity.
• Own site 5S program to ensure all areas of the plant meet standards.
• Execute, deliver and sustain NMS improvements and validated cost savings.
• Reduction of chronic losses and measurable improvement in KPIs.
• Enhanced engagement, capability, and support for pillar teams and engineers.
• Lead efforts of activities from the plant’s internal assessment with OPEX and TIP NA support to ensure implementation of actions are effective.
