Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Technician - Turnover Team to transport patients, specimens and supplies, and assist in maintaining a sterile OR environment. The role requires coordination with physicians, nurses, and surgical team members, with adherence to safety and aseptic techniques.

The position emphasizes physical stamina, attention to detail, and a positive attitude toward patients and colleagues, with a Monday–Friday shift from 10a to 6:30p.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or Project Search Graduate.
• Required CPR certification (DNU CPR).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients from nursing units to PAU and to OR.
• Transport specimens to lab and blood products from blood bank to OR.
• Transport sterile trays, instruments and equipment to OR rooms.
• Move radioactive supplies safely between areas as required.
• Assist in cleaning OR rooms during turnover and maintain sterile environment.
• Prepare OR for procedures, open sterile supplies and set up equipment.
• Monitor traffic to minimize contamination in OR zones.
• Perform preoperative shave preps and participate in required trainings.
