Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking a Technician for the Operating Room & Survey to prepare surgical procedures, maintain sterile technique and assist surgeons as a scrubbed team member. This role requires strong communication and the ability to work in a high-stress environment.

You will decontaminate, clean and sterilize instruments, handle counts with RN staff, and support daily room turnover while maintaining safety and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surgery required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRST Certification preferred or required depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surgical supplies, instruments and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist surgeons as scrubbed team member.
• Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts with RN circulator.
• Decontaminate, clean and sterilize instruments for reuse.
• Attend in-services and competency education programs.
• Restock supplies and turnaround rooms for next case.
