Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Operating Room Technologist to join the Ambulatory Surgical Center team at Jersey City Medical Center. This role supports surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers, preparing ORs, maintaining sterile technique, and providing scrub support throughout procedures.

You will work Monday–Friday Day shift, with emphasis on patient safety and teamwork. Candidates must complete an accredited OR Technician program and hold AST certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school graduate who completed an accredited OR Technician training program.
• Current certification through the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST).
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Provide skilled scrub support during various surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention throughout procedures.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers for safe care.
• Support instrument handling and OR equipment between procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
