RWJBarnabas Health is hiring an Operating Room Technician for the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center location. The role supports the OR team by preparing rooms, assisting surgeons, and maintaining sterile technique to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Responsibilities include instrument handling, patient assistance, room turnover, and collaboration with perioperative staff. Requires AST and BLS certifications, and completion of an accredited OR tech program.

Competenze

• High school diploma required.
• Accredited Operating Room Technician program completed.
• Current certification through the AST and BLS required.

Mansioni

• Prepare operating rooms for procedures with instruments and sterile supplies.
• Provide scrub support and assist surgeons and perioperative staff.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
• Handle and organize surgical instruments and equipment accurately.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Support instrument cleaning and room turnover between cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nurses on patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
• Adhere to regulatory standards and hospital policies.
