RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Operating Room Technician to join the surgical team. You will prepare operating rooms, assist surgeons and nurses, and help ensure a safe, efficient perioperative environment with a focus on patient safety and high-quality care.

The role requires completion of an accredited OR Technician program, and current AST and BLS certifications. You will work in a dynamic setting, supporting continuous learning and professional growth within a collaborative team.

Competenze

• High school graduate with accredited OR Technician training program.
• Current AST certification and BLS certification required.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist in varied procedures while following safety standards.

Mansioni

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready.
• Provide scrub support to surgeons and perioperative team during procedures.
• Anticipate needs of surgical team and respond quickly to maintain a safe operative environment.
• Maintain infection prevention and aseptic practices throughout procedures.
• Handle and pass surgical instruments with accuracy and care.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery to support safety and comfort.
• Support instrument cleaning and OR equipment prep between procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and staff for coordinated care.
• Engage in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
