Job summary

Dignity Health's St. Joseph's Westgate Medical Center in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team across a range of procedures. You will set up instruments, assist the team, and help maintain a sterile environment for patient care.

The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgeries. Required qualifications include HS/GED and BLS; Surgical Tech program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• High School GED General Studies.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists circulating nurses in set up of surgical procedure according to physician preference, standards of care and hospital protocol
• Handles laboratory specimens according to hospital protocol, maintaining hospital standard of zero tolerance for mishandled specimens
• Assists the Surgeon during procedures as requested
• Retrieves necessary equipment and supplies
• Assists in patient/equipment preparation
• Performs follow-up actions as directed
