RWJBarnabas Health seeks an Operating Room Technician to join the Operating Room team at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This role focuses on preparing the OR, assisting surgeons and nurses, and maintaining sterile technique for safe, efficient surgeries.

You will work an evening, full-time schedule (37.5 hours/week) and contribute to patient safety and high-quality perioperative care while growing professionally in a dynamic environment.

Competenze

• High school diploma and completion of an accredited OR technician program.
• Current AST certification and BLS certification required.
• Commitment to patient safety, surgical excellence and teamwork.

Mansioni

• Prepare operating rooms for procedures with instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
• Scrub assist for surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention throughout every case.
• Handle and pass instruments with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support patient care before, during, and after surgery while prioritizing safety and comfort.
• Assist with instrument prep, cleaning and room turnover between cases.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative team to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and staff education.
