NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking an Operating Room Technician to join the NSG-Operating Room team. Under RN supervision, you will prepare and deliver sterile instruments, assist in circulating, and support the surgical team.

The role includes participation in quality improvement and adherence to aseptic techniques to optimize patient outcomes. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certification exam must be taken and passed within 12 months of program completion.
• Current and valid BLS (AHA).
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to safety guidelines, infection control, and equipment handling.
• Takes corrective actions when counts are off and provides instruments as needed.
• Assists in circulating, gathering instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Observes patient status and reports findings to the RN.
• Reviews perioperative plan and adjusts with RN direction.
• Provides instruments and supplies and maintains aseptic technique.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and staff education.
• Communicates with patients and healthcare team; follows escalation policy.
• Performs additional tasks as assigned.
