The successful candidate will assist with room setup, instrument counts, specimen handling, and turnover while maintaining HIPAA compliance and collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program is preferred.
• Completion of UofL Health Surgical Technologist training program is preferred.
• Completion of hospital-based surgical technologist training program.
• Graduates of military training in surgical technology are considered.

Responsabilités

• Prepares operative area and maintains sterile field during procedures.
• Passes instruments, sponges and sutures to surgeon; performs counts.
• Receives and handles surgical specimens as directed.
• Prepares operating room and assists with turnover between cases.
• Installs cleaning, reprocessing and storage of instruments and equipment.
