UofL Health is seeking a Weekend Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. You will anticipate needs, prepare the sterile field, and pass instruments during procedures under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include maintaining aseptic technique, assisting with specimen handling, room turnover, and instrument reprocessing. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential for patient safety and efficient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent (required)
• Graduation from accredited surgical technologist program (preferred)
• BLS certification by American Heart Association (required)

Responsibilities

• Prepares operative area, drapes sterile field, maintains aseptic environment
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon; counts needles and sponges
• Receives and handles surgical specimens as directed by surgeon
• Prepares OR for cases and assists with room turnover
• Institutes cleaning, reprocessing and storage of instruments and equipment
