Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in Longview, TX. You will prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, and assist with procedures under the supervision of surgeons and perioperative staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining asepsis, instrument counts, patient positioning support, and ensuring supplies are available. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to infection prevention standards are essential.

Formación

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required.
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical cases, equipment, and supplies.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Handle instruments per instructions for use; ensure sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
• Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assist in patient positioning, draping, and transfers for procedures.
• Maintain physician preference cards and ensure available supplies.
• Clean, reprocess, and sterilize instruments following protocols.
• Restock supplies and ensure OR readiness for subsequent cases.
• Perform other duties as assigned; maintain regular attendance and policy compliance.
