Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking an Experienced Medical Assistant to support pre-operative areas at ASC Stamford. This role handles patient intake, patient transport, supply management and coordination with RNs, while ensuring confidentiality and efficient OR flow.

Responsibilities include stocking, communicating with nursing staff, and assisting Circulating Nurse; requires High School diploma, BCLS certification, and medical office/computer skills; Monday–Friday schedule with some travel

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED. Medical Assistant certification preferred. Current BCLS.
• BCLS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire.
• Previous work experience in an acute-care facility or long-term setting preferred.
• Knowledge of computer tasks and programs (Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.
• Intermittent physical mobility/activity including walking, standing, sitting, light lifting, pulling or pushing of carts, equipment, etc. Must be able to bend at the waist; kneel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner.
• Ability to organize equipment, instruments, and supplies; manage time; handle stress.
• Telephone, scanner and fax machines and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and supply pre-operative areas for patient OR attire and linens.
• Greet patients and aid with admitting under RN direction.
• Help maintain patient flow by providing clean stretchers and recliners.
• Communicate with nursing staff about arrivals, etc.
• Assist PACU staff in retrieving nourishment for patients.
• Help patients change into street clothes before discharge per PACU RN.
• Assist with patient transport via wheelchair after PACU.
• Store medical supplies in proper areas.
• Transport patients from pre-op to OR and OR to PACU as directed.
• Assist with OR room turnovers and cleaning after patient left.
• Run errands to hospital, lab, pharmacy, or OR as instructed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and medical records filing.
