Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Stamford, CT, is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support daily surgical procedures. The ORA will help prepare and turnover operating rooms, assist with patient positioning, and ensure cleanliness and readiness for the next case.

Responsibilities include sanitizing surfaces, managing linen, and assisting with inventory. This entry-level role offers growth opportunities within a dynamic orthopedic network and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency and understanding of basic medical terminology.
• BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room at the beginning of the day by sanitizing surfaces and equipment using germicides.
• Assists the surgical team in positioning patients.
• Sweep and mop floors between procedures and when necessary.
• Transfers patients from the operating room bed to recovery stretchers and prepares OR for next case.
• Changes bed sheets between procedures and manages linen and scrub attire.
• Assists Materials Manager with inventory receiving and controls.
• May assist clinical staff in selecting cases for future procedures.
