This role emphasizes patient safety, aseptic techniques, and collaboration with nursing staff. Work is in Rhode Island Hospital, with a schedule of Monday to Friday and alternating weekends, day shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to recognize changes in patient's condition and report to nursing staff.
• Ability to perform simple numerical calculations for supplies.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques for cleaning rooms and equipment.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from the surgical suite and reviews preoperative charts.
• Assists in surgical room preparation with basic supplies and equipment.
• Cleans furniture and equipment between cases and inventories supplies.
• Assists in prepping patients, lifting, positioning, and assisting with anesthesia injections.
• Stocks supplies and delivers cultures and specimens as needed.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance in the Operating Room and sterilizes items.
• Assembles patient record packs of charge slips for procedures.
