Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the perioperative team. You will assist surgeons and nursing staff with basic patient care, room preparation, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical cases.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of related clinical experience, and AED certification. Shifts are 40 hours per week, with benefits and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: One year in Patient Care Assistant or related clinical role preferred.
• Credentials: AHA Heart saver AED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgery with retracting, lifting and positioning.
• Maintain sterile field and assist team during procedures.
• Prepare rooms, stretchers and supplies for cases.
• Transport patients to and from the OR and monitor during transport.
• Assist with turnover and room readiness for next case.
• Follow universal precautions and infection control procedures.
