Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician to help maintain a clean, safe environment across the Main Operating Room and Burn Center. You will remove waste, turnover rooms, transport supplies, and ensure cleanliness in surgical areas while supporting daily operational needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced healthcare setting with strong teamwork and responsiveness to patient care demands.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, environmental services, housekeeping, OR support, or hospital operations preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and transport equipment and supplies within the department.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic understanding of infection prevention practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform trash, linen, and biohazard waste removal throughout Surgical Services.
• Clean and prepare operating and procedure rooms between cases to support efficient room turnover.
• Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of surgical suites, work areas, storage rooms, and support spaces.
• Transport equipment, supplies, and materials between departments as needed.
• Monitor and restock designated supply areas.
• Safely handle and dispose of regulated medical waste according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
• Assist with terminal cleaning activities and preparation of surgical areas for the next day’s schedule.
• Support both the Burn Center and Main Operating Room based on daily operational needs.
• Respond promptly to requests from nursing and surgical teams.
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
