Job summary

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Irvine, CA, seeks an Operating Room Assistant to support the OR team, assist with patient positioning/prepping under the RN, and ensure smooth room turnover. You will help prepare equipment for procedures, communicate essential details to the RN, and assist with transfers and handling of endoscopy, robotics, and video equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months experience as Operating Room Assistant.
• Successful completion of internal technician competencies or equivalent external core training.
• A minimum of 1 year recent operating room experience is preferred.
• Additional skills and knowledge of equipment related to the surgical/procedural environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning/prepping under the direction of the RN.
• Prepare equipment and specialty items for procedures according to preference cards; communicate pertinent information to the RN.
• Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and protocols.
• General cleaning, equipment cleaning, room turnover, and specimen transport; assist OR team with patient care.
• May function in the role of Operating Room Assistant as needed.
