University of Rochester seeks an OR Support Coordinator III to help manage patient flow through Perioperative Services and the Operating Room at Strong Memorial Hospital. You will partner with anesthesia coordinators, charge nurses, surgeons, and staff to optimize efficiency and patient safety.

You will triage calls, maintain the OR schedule, and coordinate emergency changes while supporting registration, billing accuracy, and patient tracking.

Qualifikationen

• Associate's degree required with 3+ years related experience preferred.
• Medical terminology experience preferred.
• Experience with PICIS and Flowcast preferred.
• Typing accuracy preferred.
• Customer service skills critical in fast-paced perioperative environment.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during life-threatening situations.

Aufgaben

• Functions as primary liaison between staff and faculty in the Operating Room and ectopic surgical locations.
• Maintains White Board with scheduling data and ensures follow-through.
• Triages patient calls and assesses urgency to determine actions.
• Manages OR scheduling, backup plans, and next-day cases.
• Provides training to staff as a designated preceptor and supports registration processes.
• Coordinates transportation for discharged or transferred patients as needed.
