Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking an Operating Room Service Line Coordinator to support the daily OR schedule, manage equipment, and coordinate nursing and support staff.

You will circulate and scrub as needed, ensure compliance with policies, mentor new staff, and collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, sterile processing, and pharmacy to keep cases flowing smoothly. This role requires a BSN, 2+ years OR experience, NC RN license, BCLS, CNOR preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Two or more years of Operating Room experience.
• Current RN license in North Carolina (or compact).
• BCLS required.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of management and clinical skills for specific service line(s).
• Maintains regulatory standards and compliance with environment of care, policies and SOPs.
• Supervises RNs, Surgical Technologists and staff in the OR and participates in performance evaluations.
• Maintains equipment and instrumentation in collaboration with sterile processing.
• Communicates effectively with OR teams to meet KPIs and ensure smooth flow of cases.
• Acts as charge nurse when needed and supports scheduling and coverage.
• Circulates and scrubs as needed to maintain skill and procedural knowledge.
• Plans daily OR schedules, coordinating staffing, equipment, and vendor needs.
• Collaborates with anesthesia, surgeons, pharmacy, sterile processing, and supply chain to resolve issues.
