Parallon, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking an Operating Room Scheduling Coordinator Float who can work from home while residing in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area. This position supports hospital-based operating room scheduling and coordination with surgical teams, with regular daytime hours Monday through Friday.

You will manage daily surgical schedules, ensure efficient room utilization, and maintain accurate documentation while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and anesthesia teams

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience coordinating schedules in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures to maximize operating room utilization.
• Communicate with physician offices, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to verify schedules and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain accurate schedules and patient information records.
• Adjust schedules for emergencies, cancellations, or changes in status.
• Attend daily Look-Ahead meetings and support department workflows.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Operating Room Scheduling Coordinatoris responsible formanaging and coordinating the daily schedules of surgical procedures in the operating room. This role ensuresoptimalutilizationof operating room resources,maintainsaccuraterecords, and collaborates with surgical teams to provide efficient and effective patient care. This role is the central link between physician office staff, operating room staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing teams, surgical vendor teams, and other administrative personnel.

In this role you will:

• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, ensuringoptimaluse of operating room time and resources.
• Create a welcoming, professional environment while engaging with physician office staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing teams, and other healthcare professionals to verify schedules and efficiently resolve conflicts.
• Maintainaccurateand up-to-date records of surgical schedules, patient information, and operating roomutilization.
• Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate emergencies, cancellations, and changes in patient status.
• Proactivelyidentifyscheduling conflicts or inefficiencies, communicate with the relevant parties tofacilitateresolutions, and implement best practices to streamline workflow.
• Attend and contribute to daily 5 Day Look-Ahead meetings to ensure any issues are addressed including preventing cancellations and delays.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to operating room scheduling.
• Provide administrative support to the surgical services department, including data entry, report generation, and record keeping.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalentrequired
• Previousexperience in healthcare scheduling, preferably in a surgical or operating room setting.
