Job summary

Russell Regional Hospital in Kansas is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to assist the Director of Surgery and ensure the smooth operation of the Surgery Department and Recovery Room in line with hospital policies.

The role requires Kansas RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 2 years of OR-related experience, with strong communication and confidentiality skills. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate with the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification is required or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• 2 years of job-related experience and sufficient in-service and orientation regarding Surgery Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assess the delivery of nursing care in the Surgery Department and identify problems and any need for improvement.
• Plan individualized nursing care in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and other members of the health care team.
• Provide comprehensive, individualized care to patients based on identified needs.
• Administer prescribed medications following established policies and procedures.
• Document appropriately on all forms, records, etc.
• Communicate the plan of action and progress to goal achievement to appropriate colleagues.
• Provide recovery care to patients following surgery as per established Recovery Room Policies and Procedures.
• Attend Nursing Service meetings and other meetings as requested, delivering in-service education as assigned.
