Job summary

Washington Regional Medical System in Arkansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room to provide perioperative care before, during, and after surgery. You will prepare the OR, assist the surgical team, monitor patient vital signs, and ensure sterile technique.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license, CPR certification, and ACLS/PALS within 90 days. Prior OR experience preferred; the environment is fast-paced and collaborative with surgeons,

Qualifications

Active RN license and CPR certification required.
ACLS and PALS required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Experience in operating room nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patient health and discuss procedure with patient and family.
Prepare the patient for surgery and verify surgical site; administer meds and start IVs as needed.
Ensure sterile field and prepare instruments/equipment for procedures.
Monitor vital signs and anesthesia throughout surgery.
Assist surgeon and staff by passing instruments and supplies.
Document perioperative care, logs, and care plans accurately.
Coordinate with surgical team for smooth transitions between steps of care.
Assist in patient transfer to recovery area and post-anesthesia care.
Educate patients and families on post-operative care requirements.
