Job summary

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for operating room support. You will assess patients before surgery, educate families, administer preoperative care and medications, and participate in site verification and safety protocols.

You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the broader OR team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications within 30 days, ADN or higher, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Qualifications

• Current RN license and registration in good standing.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients preoperatively and prepare them for procedures.
• Educate patients and families about the peri-operative process.
• Administer preoperative medications and IV therapy as ordered.
• Verify surgical site and participate in team briefings and timeouts.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes accurately during shift.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff for safe care.
