Job summary

St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX seeks a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to influence patient care through collaborative relationships and involvement in nursing initiatives.

You will evaluate patients pre-operatively, educate families, prepare patients (IV therapy and meds), and participate in sterile protocols while delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic surgical team.

Qualifications

• RN licensed to practice in Texas.
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of start date.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and peri-operative care.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes during shift.
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons and staff for safe care.
