Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse OR (RN OR experience required) to provide nursing care for a defined group of patients using the nursing process in collaboration with the health team. The RN will document assessments, reassess progress toward goals, administer medications and blood products, promote patient safety, and support discharge planning with education and resources.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS and Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties aligned with the organization's mission and values.
• Documents patient assessments, reassessments, progress toward goals, and all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with health care team and escalates appropriately.
• Establishes caring relationships with staff, patients, families, and health care team members.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy, including blood administration.
• Sets priorities for patient care and uses critical thinking, coordinating and completing tasks independently or with delegation.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning with available resources.
