NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, invites a Registered Nurse experienced in the OR to join our team. The RN assumes responsibility for nursing care and patient outcomes for a designated group of patients and collaborates with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• NYS Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties aligned with mission and values.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional practice and growth.
• Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goals accurately.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates effectively with health care team; escalates when needed.
• Establishes caring relationships with patients and families.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy per policy, including blood.
• Prioritizes patient care, uses critical thinking, and coordinates tasks independently or with delegation.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge to provide nursing care based on patient needs.
