Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, a Level I trauma center in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, seeks a Registered Nurse OR to join our team. You will provide nursing care to a patient group using the nursing process in collaboration with the health care team.

Requirements include NYS RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and BLS. BSN, CNOR, and AORN are preferred. We are committed to inclusion and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS.
• BLS certification.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
• Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goal achievement, and all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with health care team; escalate situations appropriately.
• Establishes effective caring relationships with staff, patients, families and other team members.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure including blood administration.
• Establishes priorities for patient care and uses critical thinking to coordinate and complete tasks independently or with delegation.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning using available resources.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide nursing care based on patient needs across physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and age-related criteria.
