Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS or completion within 3 months of hire.
• At least 1 year OR experience including neuro-spine, spine and orthopedic joints.
• Must possess organizational skills to function in a fast paced OR environment.
• Scrub experience or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological and cognitive status.
• Formulates a goal directed care plan based on nursing diagnosis and patient outcomes.
• Implements care using nursing processes to reach desired outcomes.
• Establishes priorities of patient care based on needs and available resources.
• Responds effectively in emergency situations following established protocols.
• Maintains knowledge of medical/surgical patient care, pain assessment and pharmacology.
• Documents accurately on the floor and in the patient record.
• Works as part of a team to deliver patient care.
• Maintains BLS and ACLS certification as required.
• Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Remains flexible and adaptable to new ideas and approaches.
• Treats all patients with respect and follows Patient Rights policy.
• Performs physician order reviews in a professional manner.
