TriCities Hospital in Hopewell, VA seeks a Preadmission Testing Registered Nurse (RN) to lead preoperative screening and education. You will evaluate patients, prepare them for surgery, administer IV therapy and perioperative meds, and ensure adherence to surgical safety protocols.

The role requires active RN licensure in Virginia (or compact state), ACLS/BCLS within set windows, and PALS within 60 days. You will join an interdisciplinary team delivering patient‑centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure.
• ACLS, BCLS and PALS required within stated timelines.
• BSN preferred; ongoing professional development encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education about the perioperative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team for patient care.
• Document patient condition changes and care provided.
