Job summary

IHA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for perioperative care, performing scrub and circulating roles in the intraoperative phase. The role requires participation in call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled, with a full-time, day-shift schedule in Iowa.

The nurse will support patients from neonate to geriatric, ensure aseptic technique, and collaborate with surgeons and the OR team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current or compact RN license in Iowa.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently.
• Prepares for surgical cases and anticipates needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and a safe environment for patient and staff.
• Collects and analyzes data and contributes to nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function; directs room turnover.
