Job summary

IHA in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the perioperative team, focusing on intraoperative care in both scrub and circulating roles for patients from neonates to geriatrics. The 12-hour day shift offers consistent teamwork within the OR.

Applicants must be willing to be on-call, work weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled, and participate in case preparation, aseptic technique, and collaboration with the surgical team and families.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Iowa.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter training completed within 3 months.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safety.
• Collects and analyzes data for nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates with patient, staff, physicians, and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup.
• Initiates room turnover.
