Job summary

Iowa-based IHA is seeking a perioperative RN to provide intraoperative patient care in scrub and circulating roles. The role requires being on call, weekends, nights and holidays as scheduled.

The incumbent will scrub and circulate independently, prepare for procedures, ensure aseptic technique, and collaborate with the OR team to optimize patient outcomes. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current RN license issued by the State of Iowa.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• BLS certification within six weeks of hire.
• Proof of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient and OR team.
• Maintains sterile technique and environmental safety.
• Collects data and assesses patient in developing nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup and function.
