Job summary

United Surgical Partners International Inc (USPI) is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse in Hackensack, NJ. The role involves leading nursing activities for patients undergoing operative procedures and guiding non-licensed staff.

Care spans pediatric to geriatric patients with a focus on safety, consent, and comprehensive pre/post-operative records. Requirements include RN licensure (Texas) and BLS, with a minimum of one year OR experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Minimum one year previous OR experience required.
Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse required.
BLS required.
Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees.
Knowledgeable of hospital policies and procedures specific to operating room nurses.
Clinically proficient in operating room nursing skills across pediatric to geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

Meets all required deadlines and prioritizes tasks.
Delivers direct and indirect patient care per standards, considering patient age and risks.
Uses nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
Acts as patient advocate and maintains autonomy and dignity.
Prepares rooms, instruments, and equipment for procedures and cleans room after.
Documents records per policies and procedures.
Assists in sterile technique and operates sterilizers.
Provides guidance and supervision for OR personnel.
Performs circulating nurse duties and scrub duties when required.
