Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington in Surgical Services is seeking a Surgical Nursing Assistant-OR for part-time, first-shift weekends. You will support the OR team with patient care, safe transport, aseptic technique, and basic duties under RN supervision.

The role includes assisting in procedures, participating in unit activities, and completing a 3-month weekday training schedule before moving to weekend shifts. Requires KY nurse aide certification or nursing program progress and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• KY Nurse Aide Certification or first-year Nursing Program with clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; if not held, obtain within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff in providing high quality patient care.
• Provide basic physical care and safe patient transport.
• Demonstrate aseptic technique and follow hospital policies.
• Aid in surgical procedures and basic circulating tasks under RN supervision.
• Participate in unit activities and maintain positive patient relations.
