Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Surgical Nursing Assistant to join the OR team for the second shift (11:00–19:30). You will support surgical staff, provide basic patient care, and assist with patient transport and aseptic technique under RN supervision.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, KY Nurse Aide Certification (or first-year nursing student with clinicals), and BLS with 30 days of hire. On-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or completion of first year of Nursing program with validated clinical rotation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist hospital staff in providing high-quality, safe patient care.
• Provide basic physical care of patients and assist with patient transport (stretcher, wheelchair, beds).
• Perform tasks and procedures per hospital policy and procedure; maintain aseptic technique.
• Contribute to positive patient and family interactions and participate in unit activities.
• Aid in Surgical Procedures and basic circulating functions under RN direction in the OR.
• On-call required weeknights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
