Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a dedicated Surgical Services Assistant for our Operating Room in Louisville, KY. The full-time role supports surgeons, nurses, and perioperative staff, ensuring clean rooms, sterile equipment, and smooth patient positioning throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities include room setup, patient transport, and post-procedure turnover. OR experience is preferred; BCLS and Hana Table competency are required within 90 days of hire. On-call flexibility is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and teamwork are essential.
• Excellent organization and multitasking abilities in a surgical setting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operating room environment.
• Flexible availability, including on‑call responsibilities.
• Knowledge of orthopedic patient positioning preferred.
• Prior Operating Room experience strongly preferred.
• BCLS verification required within 90 days of hire.
• HANA Table Training Competency required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist with patient transport, transfers, and positioning.
• Support surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists during procedures.
• Assist with room turnover, stocking supplies, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and equipment safety standards.
• Participate in HANA table call coverage.
