Job summary

SSM Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role requires scrub and circulating duties, assisting surgeons, preparing rooms and equipment, and applying evidence-based practice.

A multi-state RN license and BLS certification are expected, with no prior experience required. The position is based in the Surgery and Procedure Center with a 40-hour work week, day shift, and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program or equivalent licensing
• No experience required
• RN license for applicable work locations (multi-state)
• Current BLS HCP certification

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub functions, selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Performs circulating functions, monitors patient condition and coordinates nursing care during procedures.
• Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis and wound exposure.
• Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments/equipment for use.
• Applies evidence-based nursing practice to meet age-specific and clinical patient needs.
• Adheres to professional nursing standards and ANA ethics in practice.
• Maintains constant alertness and safe working conditions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
