Job summary

SSM Health DePaul Hospital in St. Louis is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting for patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.

The role includes scrub and circulating functions, assisting the surgeon, preparing rooms and equipment, and applying evidence-based practice to patient care. 40-hour work week with day shifts, across a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• No professional experience required.
• State RN licensure in IL/MO/OK/WI as applicable per work location.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures.
• Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care before, during and after procedures.
• Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
• Apply evidence-based practice to nursing care, ensuring patient age- and clinical needs are met.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and professional standards; maintain safety and alertness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
